Oh,
it’s tough being on top.
Spain has been at the top
choice of the masses as a place to purchase property abroad.
And rightly so. Now, however, it’s title as King seems
to be slightly less stable as other countries become more
and more popular.
Well, sometimes ‘new’ is not ‘better’.
In this article we will give you fifteen reasons why Spain
is still the King!
- Very high quality of life; with long summers, good wine
and fresh food
- Spain is right in the centre of things; traveling to
the rest of Europe is possible in car or train, Africa
is easy to get to, and there are plenty of flights to England
and Ireland
- Excellent food; think Paella, Turrón, tapas, jamón
serrano and churros con chocolate.
- Typical Mediterranean climate of hot, dry summers and
very mild winters.
- Euro currency, making travel within the EU a piece of
cake
- Living in Spain gives you a chance to learn Spanish which
will fuel you on any possible travels to America, and make
learning other romance languages easier.
- Spain, and especially the smaller towns, is still so
much less expensive than northern European countries
- The Spanish way of life is very relaxed, the feeling
in the air is; don’t stress, go to the beach!
- Siesta! Yes, finally, the majority are right, taking
a nap in the middle of the day is a good thing!
- Cigarettes cost less in Spain, which can be seen as either
a good thing or a bad thing. A packet of cigarettes will
only set you back approximately €2.50.
- Wine is much cheaper in Spain than in other European
countries. A good quality wine will set you back only €5
or €6.
- Spaniards have a strong sense of family which makes it
a great place to bring up your own family.
- Spaniards respect their elders; when abuela says
something is so, it is so!
- The wonderful climate makes outdoor life so enjoyable;
take a coffee on a café terrace, spend time at the
beach, sit outside reading a book, and spend your nights
in the plazas socializing with all the other night-owls.
- The Spaniards are generally and happy and open people,
willing to get to get to know you whoever you are.
Spain is a wonderful country to both live and work in. There
is little doubt as to why it has always been on the top of
people’s favorite country to live in, and now, there
is little doubt as to why it should stay that way.
